| Well, I wondered why I was getting so few contest entries this time. Sincerest, humblest, reddest-faced apologies and mea culpas for my not having changed the text of the excerpt of The Slightest Provocation to give you the one that contains the correct answer to the question. The correct excerpt (the one that actually contains the answer) is posted now -- apologies again, my bad. Big thanks to Elaine in Ormond Beach, Florida, for writing to me to point out the error. And all my admiration to those intrepid readers who tried to enter the contest, couldn't find the correct answer where it should have been, and came up with wonderful, creative alternatives. Sorry, and hope you try again, while I wander away with my tail between my legs... My excuse (and here there is some good news), is that I was devoting the entirety of my brain and heart to the revisions for my upcoming book, The Edge of Impropriety, out this November. Because as usual, my tough, talented editor had come up with a heap o' ways to improve the manuscript and I dug in deep to put the ideas together, make the book a better one than it would have been -- and deserve the fabulous cover they gave me, which isn't up on this web site yet, but soon will be. If you want to see some sneak peeks at the cover, tho, you can go to this post at the Spiced Tea Party, or this one at History Hoydens. And, of course, I'll be updating this site soon to tell you more about Edge and what you can expect to find in it. After I make a couple more fixes, announcements, and apologies about the contest stupidity. Blushing, kicking self, etc... |
